Maintenance and Tuning
Maintenance and tuning sessions are advisable once or twice a year to keep the organ functioning at its best and allowing the possibility to monitor any arising problems that can be serious if left unattended.
Like with any other piece of machinery, maintenance is important to ensure that the organ will operate in the best condition possible,
and maintain its beautiful sound. Especially in warmer climates like in Malta, heat, humidity and a
dusty environment is a common scenario, therefore organs will need to be observed and maintained periodically, especially to minimize
the build-up of dirt on the different components and pipework which can cause extensive damage and will
negatively affect the sound and performance of the organ.
The wide temperature fluctuation in such a climate can also factor into the pipes going out of more frequently
and thus requires more care.
